With the LEGO Chairlift Building Set Super Bundle, you can build your own realistic LEGO chairlift featuring a motorized 3-person chairlift, sturdy supports, and upper and lower stations. The revised Version 3 has been technically optimized, features a more stable design, and ensures smooth, realistic operation—ideal for LEGO winter villages, dioramas, or mountain landscapes.

The building plan was developed over several years, built in real life, and continuously improved. Over 200 customers have already built their own LEGO cable car using these plans. All parts used are currently available and can be ordered affordably through LEGO or BrickLink.

Version 3 of the LEGO chairlift features reinforced supports, a thicker suspension cable, and optimized mechanics for steeper gradients and smoother operation. The instructions also include tips on motorization, stability, and optimal support placement.

The building plan is intended for experienced LEGO builders who want to build a functional cable car and enjoy engineering, construction, and realistic LEGO models.

Highlights of Version 3

The new version has been completely redesigned and improved:

  • More stable support structure
  • New mounting system
  • Thicker suspension cable
  • Smoother and quieter operation with shock absorption
  • Greater inclines possible
  • Expandable and flexibly customizable
  • Motorization included in the construction plan
  • Over 140 pages of detailed assembly instructions

  • Instructions for the chairs
  • Instructions for the blue and red stations

Technical Notes and Installation Recommendations

For a stable and reliable result, a sturdy foundation is recommended, such as a MILS system or a comparable structure. Base plates alone are usually not sufficient.

Additional tips for stable operation:

  • Place supports close to the stations
  • On steep sections, build two supports in a row
  • Adjust supports to the cable slope using an angled construction
  • Heights of over 40 LEGO bricks are possible
  • Pay attention to weight distribution

The total cost for parts, including motorization, is approximately CHF 250–300, depending on part prices.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Is the LEGO chairlift motorized?

Yes, the building instructions include instructions for motorization. The lift was tested with a PF-XL motor, but other motors are also possible. In our setup, we used a 9V LEGO Technic motor from the 1990s. These run more smoothly and are very quiet.

Are the LEGO parts included in the building plan?

The building instructions and BrickLink parts lists are included. The parts must be ordered separately.

We are often asked if we also sell a parts set. Unfortunately, we do not offer this, as the build is too individual.

How difficult is the build?

The building plan is intended for experienced LEGO builders aged 16 and up.

The build requires time, patience, and technical understanding.

We’re happy to help with questions—as long as the effort involved is reasonable.
